UpBeat Music Therapy Services provides engaging, interactive Music Therapy programs for all age ranges from youth to older adults including sing alongs, drum circles, music and movement, and music for memory.

We also provide 1:1 services for rehabilitation, medical and hospice clients.

 

JAKE BECK, MT-BC

Owner, Board-Certified Music Therapist

Jake brings years of music therapy experience to UpBeat, including rehabilitation settings, hospice, DD, and Alzheimer's. Jake holds a Bachelor of Music from Knox College in Illinois and a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Marylhurst University in Oregon. Jake has additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy and Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapy. Jake is an accomplished guitarist with over 25 years' experience, and is an improvisational musician and songwriter. His family includes wife Brooke (a Naturopathic Doctor) and 3 children.

 
 

Kelly Aloia, mt-bc

As a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), Kelly has experience working with groups and individuals across the spectrum of life. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis on harp performance from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Marylhurst University. Kelly is passionate about bringing meaningful musical experiences to people who may not have access otherwise. She believes that everyone deserves access to the joy, growth, and connection that music can bring.

 

Airel farley, mt-bc

Born and raised in Oregon, Airel is a graduate of Pacific University. Although she has experience working with people of varying ages and needs she primarily works with older adults in residential home settings. Her holistic and humanistic approach is focused on meeting clients where they are so they can use music as a bridge to expression and connection.

 

Natalia Uribe, MT-BC

Natalia was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and moved to the United States in pursuit of a degree in music therapy. They graduated in 2019 from Pacific University, and has since had the honor of exploring the use of music therapy in varying settings, from LGBTQIA+ shelter for survivors of domestic violence, to end-of-life care, and inpatient mental health.  Natalia sees music therapy as a creative way to reconnect with the inner self, strengthen relationships and find healing. They are also passionate about breaking down barriers of access to mental health and music therapy services.

Sarah rush, atR, lmhc

Sarah is a registered art therapist (ATR) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has practiced for 10 years. She has experience working with diverse populations including adults in acute psychiatric care and with post 9-11 veterans. She practices a strength based approach using a variety of media with emphasis on creating a safe environment to collaborate on treatment goals whether they be to increase self-expression, regulate emotions, improve self-esteem, increase socialization or deepen insight into the self.
